Marianne is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Michael Hasselmo at Boston University. She is currently developing a detailed model of the entorhinal cortex to examine the biological feasibility of several mathematical models of grid cell formation. For her doctoral thesis, she designed and developed a detailed, biologically constrained computer model to study the contributions of interneurons to network dynamics in the CA1 area of the hippocampus. In addition to her area of research, she is generally interested in how to make research and simulation more efficient.
